Nestled in the Farmington River Valley, Canton is a delightful country town. The center of town has cultural points of interest like specialty antiques shops and an art gallery in addition to the regular stores.

Horseback riding, hiking, swimming, tennis, team sports, skating and cross-country skiing are offered at the Mills Pond Recreation Area. The multi-use Farmington River Trail which was built on an old railroad bed winds through town and into surrounding towns.
